SOUNDTRACK DAY 5
I’ve been having much fun with Song 2 today. It’s quite tricky to reproduce these flawed performances of mine. :) I’ve spent a pile of time getting my Mellotron sounds right…which ended up being a blend of 2 strings and a flute…but I got there. Also trying out some other vintage synth possibilities to flesh out this sequenced bass part I had….which, of course was out of time, and which, of course, I no longer have the synth…in fact I don’t even know what I did it with. So it becomes a test of my understanding of synthesis to figure out how to reproduce the sweeping filter-y sound it’s making. I’ve been working with The Oddity, and though it’s quite cool and vintage sounding, it’s not exactly doing it for me. I’m about to fire up Kore 2 to see what I can dig up…Kontakt has a some vintage synths I think.
I was able to nail the guitar sound…which is great. Just need to tighten up the playing and all will be well.
I’m trying to resist the temptation of rewriting everything as I go…remembering that on some level, at one point, I was quite satisfied with this body of work. Is a creative’s job never done? I think so.
