Roland JX3P
Was looking around my studio the other day, and I found my old Roland JX3P sitting in the corner. Don’t know why I keep it, but I think it has something to do with the wood sides. Or maybe the fact that my good friend and sometime musical cohort, Fingertown, the previous owner of this antique, in a fit of inspiration painted over the whole thing, including the legend of how to program it. I keep dreaming that I’ll find one of those PG-200 editor breakout boxes at a garage sale or something…I remember seeing someone with the same keyboard and editor in high school and thinking that was pretty damn neato. This piece of synth history (Roland’s first MIDI enabled keyboard!), gear has not seen the end of its days yet…..
