Firefox - Gmail Troubles Solved!
I’m posting this only on the off-chance that someone else out there is having similar trouble to what I’ve been experiencing for about a month with Firefox and Gmail.
Basically, one day things were fine, and the next I found myself unable to compose messages in Gmail without loading the most basic, stripped down html version of Gmail. As well, it turned out that Reader would not function beyond a snail’s pace when loading articles and posts in digest view for me.
Things got so bad that I ditched Firefox in favour of Chrome, which worked fine. I searched and searched for answers, but nothing I tried from either Mozilla’s or Google’s knowledge baseage worked. I actually laughed at myself when I submitted a support request to Google… as if my little problem was going to get any attention. (It didn’t).
But the other day I realized how much I missed the extension-ability of Firefox, and so I began searching again and finally found a tasty little morsel that pointed me to a Skype add-on in Firefox, which, once removed, solved all of my problems!!!
It’s interesting to note that I do not recall ever installing said add-on.
hmmm….
Anyways.. all good now. Time to extensionify my browsing experience. Welcome back, Firefox!

Thanks a lot for this post! I’ve been having the same problem, resulting in me having 4 different browsers installed. Uninstalling the skype add-on did the trick for me as well.
