Cloud Lifting

It seems every year I get a nasty cold in the fall…this year was no different, sadly.  Except that the cold that the rest of my family got and shared and recovered from normally turned into a full-blown sinus/lung infection for me, which meant a full week off work, another week at half-time, and absolutely no fun-having at all.  Not even the kind of cold where you just decide to stay home “anyway’s” and get something else more fun done…this was the full package, and it wiped me out and put me down for the count.

I think I counted 32 extra hours of sleep over the 10 days from when I contracted to when I returned halfway to work.  Those are daytime hours.  The sinus part of the infection meant there was no way to work on mixing Brad Sucks album, the lung infection meant I didn’t have the energy anyway’s, since I was up all night every night hacking my lungs out.

However, the worst is behind me now after a 10 day run of antibiotics which arguably made me feel worse (albeit differently) than my various infections.  Biaxin.  Even the name sounds harsh.

But I’m back in black, yo… and mixing has officially recommenced.  4 more tracks to go, then final tweaks and Brad’s album is done!  I’m very excited for him, it sounds fantastic.  I’ve also had a sneak peak at his digital store, and this also looks great.

That’s about all to report from here, except that the song selection for this year’s Christmas carol is done, and having picked up my acoustic guitar from being repaired yesterday, preproduction and rehearsals will start very soon.  This year, 12 Days of Christmas will join the Cosh Christmas CD, and I think it will also involve as many of the family as I can ply with drink and food for a living room foot-stomping, percussion shaking, group sing-along recording session in early December.   That’s the big idea right now….we’ll see how it all pans out.

Stay healthy!

I've never had this many boxes to fill with stuff before.... I'm going to keep extra juice here.

Squeeze Box

My Grandfather gave me one, so that goes in here, 'k?
